This is Remembrance

There are many places to sit with San Pedro.

Many mountains. Many shamans.

And yes, many people walk away with powerful insights.

This retreat is different, because of the field it’s held in.

This retreat is about what happens when the medicine is met with coherence, safety and truth.

That’s the space Joanna The Healer creates.

Why This Retreat Is Different:

What Joanna Brings:

Her presence creates an invisible container of energetic clarity, emotional safety, and frequency alignment that makes the journey go deeper, because you can finally soften.

She also acts as a a kind of ‘shamanic nurse’ — tending to emotional, energetic, and physical needs during the ceremonies so each participant feels safe and supported.

She’s a mirror of truth, a soul midwife who helps others land the medicine in their bodies.

In her words:

“I don’t guide journeys. I hold a frequency that helps people remember who they were before the distortions set in.”

Joanna will not be serving the medicine.

She’s not the shaman.

But she is the field-keeper.

If you’re longing to feel the presence of who you are, again

Then come. The mountain remembers you.

OUR SACRED MEDICINES

🌵 San Pedro (Huachuma):

The Heart-Opening Visionary Cactus

What it is:
San Pedro, also known by its original Quechua name Huachuma, is a sacred cactus native to the Andes of Peru. Revered as one of the oldest known plant teachers on the planet, it has been used for thousands of years by Andean shamans, mystics, and healers for deep spiritual connection, emotional healing, and energetic alignment.

What it’s used for:
Huachuma is known as a master heart medicine. It opens the emotional and energetic heart, helping people reconnect with love, clarity, truth, and their higher self. Unlike some other plant medicines, San Pedro brings a very grounded yet expansive experience, often accompanied by heightened perception, connection to nature, and profound insight.

Tiny bit of history:
Archaeological evidence suggests Huachuma has been used ceremonially for over 3,000 years. Carvings of the cactus have been found at ancient sites like Chavín de Huántar, indicating its powerful role in early Andean spiritual traditions.

Its power and potential:
Huachuma gently dissolves the illusion of separation — from the Earth, from others, and from the Self. It is both a visionary and a heart teacher, guiding you into coherence with who you really are. Many experience emotional breakthroughs, energetic rebalancing, and soul-level peace.

Its medicine:
Clarity. Coherence. Connection. Huachuma brings light to the shadows and love to the places we’ve closed. It doesn’t take you away from yourself — it brings you deeper in.

Kambo:

The Sacred Detox of the Amazon

What it is:
Kambo is the powerful secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor (giant monkey tree frog) and has been used for centuries by Amazonian tribes for its deep purgative and immune-boosting properties. It is not a psychedelic, but a potent physical, emotional, and energetic cleanse.

What it’s used for:
Traditionally used to strengthen the body, sharpen the senses, and clear energetic blockages, Kambo is known to purge toxins — not just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. It can help clear dense emotions, remove “energetic sludge,” and fortify your internal systems.

Tiny bit of history:
Indigenous tribes like the Matsés and Katukina have long used Kambo before hunting expeditions to enhance clarity, stamina, and focus. Today, it is also revered as a powerful tool for healing chronic illness, trauma, depression, and ancestral imprints.

Its power and potential:
Kambo acts like a spiritual reset button. While the purge process may be intense, the aftermath is often described as euphoric, clear, and deeply peaceful. People often report feeling “clean,” renewed, and more in their body.

Its medicine:
Purification. Strength. Surrender. Kambo clears what doesn’t belong — so that your natural vitality and truth can emerge.

Cacao:

The Gentle Opening of the Heart

What it is:
Cacao is the pure, unprocessed form of chocolate — but beyond its taste, it is considered a sacred plant spirit used in ceremonial practices across Mesoamerica. It is known as the Food of the Gods, and it carries a loving, feminine frequency that nurtures the heart and awakens joy.

What it’s used for:
Cacao is a soft heart-opener that brings you into deeper presence with yourself. It is often used in ceremony for emotional processing, creativity, intention-setting, and connection with others. It’s ideal for integration after deeper medicine work.

Tiny bit of history:
Used for thousands of years by the Mayans and Aztecs in spiritual rituals and royal ceremonies, cacao was seen as a divine gift from the gods. It was so valued it was once used as currency.

Its power and potential:
While gentle, cacao is deeply effective. It brings you into stillness, into your breath, into the body. It softens protection mechanisms so that love can re-enter. It’s perfect for integration, emotional connection, and opening creative channels.

Its medicine:
Softness. Embodiment. Joy. Cacao helps you listen to your heart, soften into your truth, and reawaken your innate radiance.

Altitude sickness:

Altitude sickness (also called soroche in Peru) happens when your body struggles to adjust to lower oxygen levels at high elevations. This is common in places like Cusco (3,400m / 11,150ft) and the Sacred Valley.

It can affect anyone, regardless of fitness level.

How to Prevent & Manage Altitude Sickness:

  • Take it slow – Allow 1–2 days to acclimate.

  • Chlorophyll intake: works by increasing your red blood cell count, which in turn allows your body to take in more oxygen. This helps mitigate the effects of altitude sickness (caused by a lack of oxygen). You can pick some up online before your trip, or check the local herb shops, apothecaries and grocery stores.

  • Stay hydrated – Drink PLENTY of water and herbal teas (coca or muña tea helps).

  • Avoid alcohol & caffeine – These dehydrate the body and can worsen symptoms.

  • Use coca leaves or coca tea – This traditional Andean remedy helps with oxygen absorption.

We will be supplying you constantly with coca or muña tea.

We will also have a doctor accessible on site in case of emergency.
